Jorge Martín won the sprint race at the MotoGP Indonesian GP this Saturday, becoming the first new championship leader since the Spanish GP.
It was on April 30th that Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) took the lead, a position he held for about five and a half months until losing it this Saturday. Previously, the Italian had led after the Portuguese GP, before being overtaken by Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati), who was in front after the Argentina GP and the GP of Americas.
Now, Martín is the new leader (Prima Pramac/Ducati), holding this position for the first time in the premier class. The Spanish rider has only a seven-point lead over Bagnaia, and the battle is expected to be intense until the end.
