A rumor comes from Japan, and more precisely from colleagues at Young Machine, who report the possibility of a return, in a modern version, of a small motorcycle that was a success in the past.
We’re talking about the Yamaha SDR 200, a very sporty, compact and lightweight little naked bike. At the time, it was equipped with a 2-stroke single-cylinder engine that delivered 34 hp, a very interesting figure considering its weight of just 105 kg, and it already had some technologies such as the YPVS and YESS systems, which ensured good power delivery even in the low and medium range of the rev counter.
The current rules impose the adoption of a 4-stroke engine, but that doesn’t invalidate the fact that a compact and technologically advanced naked would also be nice to see on the European market, perhaps in 250 or 300, and why not even 125.
For now, we can only dream of seeing the modern design of the Youn Machine.
