Eric Granado set the pace in the first practice session for the MotoE World Cup in Barcelona. The Catalan GP marks the third round of the electric motorcycle championship.
Initially, Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) held the lead after the first flying laps, but was soon overtaken by Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP). As the times continued to improve, Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini) and Granado (LCR E-Team) also took turns at the top.
With just over ten minutes into the session, Spinelli regained the lead, only to be overtaken again by Garzó. Spinelli quickly responded to reclaim the top spot.
However, it was Granado who set two fast laps towards the end of the session that no one could beat, making him the fastest with a time of 1m49.130s. Spinelli finished second, just 41 milliseconds behind, followed by Garzó, 0.219s off the pace.
Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) and Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt Intact GP) completed the top five, with championship leader Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) finishing sixth, 0.377s behind Granado.
