Remy Gardner topped the timesheets during the World Superbike (WSBK) test sessions in Cremona. Riders had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new circuit, which will make its debut in this year’s calendar, over two days of testing. Notably absent from the sessions was Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW).
The first day of testing was disrupted by rain in the afternoon, with the fastest times ultimately being set on Friday. On Thursday morning, Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS/Ducati) clocked the quickest time, narrowly beating Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Motocorsa Racing/Ducati) by 0.155 seconds. Team HRC riders Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge followed.
In the rain-affected Thursday afternoon session, only five riders ventured onto the track. Rinaldi posted the fastest time, over a second ahead of Tom Bridewell (Team HRC), with Tito Rabat (Kawasaki Puccetti) in third. Andrew Irwin (Team HRC) and Adrián Huertas, riding a Supersport-spec Aruba.it Ducati, also completed laps.
The rain cleared on Friday, and most riders set their best times during the afternoon session. Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha) emerged as the fastest, recording a lap time of 1m28.860s, just 0.059s ahead of Andrea Locatelli (Pata Prometeon Yamaha).
No other riders broke into the 1m28s range. Rinaldi finished third, 0.187s behind Gardner, while Sam Lowes and Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) completed the top five. Championship leader Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) placed sixth, with his teammate Álvaro Bautista in ninth. Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) ended up 12th.
Tom Bridewell was the fastest among the British Superbike Championship (BSB) riders, outperforming Andrew Irwin. In the World Supersport category, Adrián Huertas led the timesheets, ahead of Khairul Idham Pawi and Kaito Toba (Petronas MIE Racing Team Honda).
