Pedro Acosta was among the fastest on Friday at the Italian MotoGP in Mugello. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider recorded the third-fastest time in practice, just 0.388s behind leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
The Spanish rider experienced two falls during the day, but they didn’t affect him much: ‘They weren’t super big crashes, I was not pushing when I crashed, both times. So there is nothing to say about the crashes. I’m happy because even with the crashes we were able to make our plan during the day and not losing a lot of time. So, I’m happy’, he stated.
Regarding his plans for Saturday, Acosta said: ‘The margin is everywhere. But it’s true that we need to improve Sector 3 and Sector 4. Also we need to find some reason to understand why we have the problem we are having. We improved a lot, tomorrow we’ll try to be focused on the race pace in the morning. So let’s try to be focused’.
When asked to specify what he feels needs improvement, the rookie clarified: ‘More than anything, my lines. Now I’m losing a lot of time in Sector 3 and Sector 4. In addition to the lines, it’s the same like in all the Fridays, let’s say: watch videos, trying to understand the lines of everyone and then try to copy tomorrow’.
