The Moto2 Italian Grand Prix qualifying session had one fewer rider on track than expected. It was Fermín Aldeguer, one of the contenders for top positions, who had finished the morning session in second place.
The Spanish rider from MB Conveyors SpeedUp complained of neck pain and had to go to the hospital for further examination. At the moment, no further details are known about his health condition.
If Aldeguer can compete in tomorrow’s race, he will start from 18th place: as he qualified directly for Q2, that is the position assigned to him for not participating in the second qualifying.
The future MotoGP rider in 2025 arrived at the Italian GP in fourth place in the championship after a retirement. He is 46 points behind the leader, Sergio García (MT Helmets-MSi/Boscoscuro), so if he leaves Mugello without points again, his chances of becoming champion could be seriously compromised.
