Jorge Martín has been leading the MotoGP World Championship since his victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix, even reaching a 39-point lead. The Prima Pramac Racing rider is considered one of the main title contenders, but his recent confirmation with Aprilia for 2025 could change the dynamics significantly.
Despite his strong lead, journalist Manuel Pecino, quoted by Motosan.es, expressed that he sees Martín at a disadvantage moving forward, suggesting that while he might not be outright sabotaged, his chances could be hindered:
– What kind of Martín will we see from now on? For me, it’s very clear that Jorge cannot win the championship. They won’t let him. Let’s say they don’t sabotage him, but they surely have a clause that says if he leaves the team next year, he won’t receive the latest updates.
Pecino believes Martín might later complain about the bike’s performance drop: ‘I hope not to hear «I don’t know what’s happening with the bike», «the sensations are not the same». He won’t say he’s being sabotaged, but he might say the bike isn’t working as it did at the beginning’.
It’s important to note that Ducati has limited possibilities for developing the bike further, considering the current concession system in place. However, there are always adjustments and fine-tuning that can lead to significant gains in such a competitive grid.
