Earlier this week, this site published an article regarding alleged statements made by Hervé Poncharal targeting the race direction and, specifically, one of its members – the renowned former rider Freddie Spencer.
These statements were reproduced from a prestigious international source, which was mistakenly not cited in the original article. We were misled by this source, for which we apologize to Hervé Poncharal. Additionally, due to a technical oversight that has since been corrected, the article was incorrectly signed as «Simon P.», for which we also apologize.
We have always strived for accurate, impartial, independent, and truthful information. This was an unfortunate mistake, and we are now setting the record straight. In the revised article, Poncharal speaks of ‘a real shame and lack of respect by the race direction’, without the direct reference to Spencer – despite the link keeps it.
These statements were made following the penalty given to Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) during the Moto3 race at the Italian GP – at a time when the commissioners are once again under heavy criticism.
