Davide Brivio and Team Manager of Trackhouse Racing, where Miguel Oliveira is based, spoke to MotoGP.com about the chances of Joe Roberts moving up to the premier class through the American team with Aprilia bikes and his former Suzuki rider Joan Mir.
– The first thought is to discuss the type of rider we want and we haven’t started this process yet, at the moment they are still Aprilia riders we have to talk to Massimo, we’ll see, of course we have to wait to know what will happen inside the paddock. We have to sit down with Miguel and Raúl and see what they want to do, if they’re happy, if they want to stay or not and then decide together what we want to do in the future.
Asked who will make the decision to keep the riders or change riders, Brivio replied: ‘We’re working very closely with Aprilia and Massimo, of course in the end it’s Trackhouse’s decision, but we’re pretty aligned on everything so I’m sure we’ll find the best solution for everyone.
The Team Manager also spoke about the possibility of having Joan Mir or Joe Roberts in the American team.
– At the moment, we have to talk to our two drivers first, then anyone could be an option. It would be nice to have an American driver, but we need to know when the best time for that is and what’s best for our team.
