Michael van der Mark has secured his future in the World Superbike Championship. At the beginning of the week, it was announced that he has renewed his contract with ROKiT BMW, the team he joined in 2021.
The Dutch rider has had challenging seasons, particularly in 2022 and 2023, when he was significantly affected by injuries. He highlighted BMW’s trust in him despite these difficulties, stating:
– I am very, very happy and honoured to continue with BMW. I am really happy that especially after the two difficult years they still have the trust in me and I think that this year’s results are showing improvements.
Then, Van der Mark commented: ‘I’m really happy with how the team’s working, how the BMW M 1000 RR is working and how we are still improving it. So it’s fantastic to be able to stay’.
Finally, the current eighth-placed rider in the WSBK emphasized the confidence the renewal gives him for the remainder of 2024: ‘This also gives me a lot of confidence for the rest of the season. I’m ready to keep building our momentum and be even more ready for next year’.
