Repsol Honda still hasn’t announced a replacement for Marc Márquez, and the first MotoGP preseason test for 2024 is just about a month away. In recent weeks, names like Fabio Di Giannantonio, Maverick Viñales, and Miguel Oliveira have been mentioned, but for now, it’s all just speculation.
Speaking to the website GPOne.com, rider manager Carlo Pernat emphasized that there aren’t so many options for the Japanese manufacturer… and he even added Iker Lecuona’s name to the list of possibilities:
– We’re at the end of October, and Honda still doesn’t have a rider. At this point, I don’t see many solutions. One could be to take Di Giannantonio, another could be to focus on Lecuona, or to break the contract with a rider like Oliveira or Viñales, but that certainly wouldn’t be elegant.
