The Africa Twin Type 22 is a celebration of Honda’s past, harking back to the iconic rally models of the 1980s and 1990s, with the Bujar brothers and Gaz – founders of Aut Fabrica – a UK-based workshop creating this bespoke concept. The bike features a three-color scheme, with white, red and blue predominating, evoking the classic look that made the Africa Twin a legend. This design is complemented by modern details that guarantee a visually impressive and functionally advanced experience.
Despite its retro look, the Africa Twin Type 22 is equipped with the latest Honda technology. The instrument panel is a 6.5-inch TFT color screen, which offers connectivity via Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. This system allows riders to access maps, music and calls intuitively, while keeping the focus on the road.
Under the hood, the Africa Twin Type 22 retains the powerful 1,084 cc twin-cylinder engine, known for its balance between power and efficiency. This engine is mated to an optional DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) transmission, which provides smooth gear changes and a seamless riding experience.
The 45 mm adjustable front suspension and Pro-Link rear suspension ensure a comfortable and stable ride, both off-road and on paved roads. The bike also comes equipped with ABS brakes, adjustable traction control and riding modes that allow you to customize the performance according to the terrain and the rider’s preferences.
The Honda Africa Twin Type 22 also stands out for its improved ergonomics. The seat is height-adjustable, allowing riders of different statures to find the ideal riding position. In addition, the bike has a 24.8-liter fuel tank, ensuring long distances between refills – a crucial attribute for long-distance adventures.
LED lighting completes the package, providing excellent visibility and contributing to safety in low light conditions. The satellite navigation system, integrated into the TFT panel, allows you to plan routes easily and accurately, essential for explorers who like to get off the beaten track.
