Maverick Viñales will be a KTM Tech3 rider in MotoGP starting in 2025, after more than three years with Aprilia, during which both he and the Noale-based manufacturer made significant progress.
Despite Aprilia’s desire to renew his contract, the Spaniard sought a new challenge, joining a KTM team eager to claim titles in MotoGP, having already demonstrated its capabilities in other racing categories.
One of the milestones Viñales could achieve with KTM is becoming the first rider in the MotoGP era to win with four different manufacturers (the fourth in history, including the 500cc era).
Massimo Rivola, the CEO of Aprilia Racing, believes that the #12 has this goal within reach: ‘I think he wants to be the only one to win with so many different manufacturers. He has the talent for it, and I see no reason why Maverick cannot achieve this goal’, the Italian said, as quoted by SPEEDWEEK.com.
