After seven rounds, Álex Rins is ranked 20th in the MotoGP World Championship, arriving at the Dutch GP following a 15th-place finish in Italy – which allowed him to score points again.
The early stages of Rins’ tenure with Monster Energy Yamaha have not been easy, as the manufacturer itself is facing difficulties and undergoing a recovery process after recent competitive struggles.
Looking ahead to the Assen round, Rins expressed his enthusiasm in a statement: ‘After a quite busy three weeks «off», I’m really excited to start work in Assen. It is a really good circuit for me. I’m looking forward to being there, and enjoying the track, which is pretty iconic’.
Before this GP, the Spaniard visited the Yamaha Motor Europe facilities, considering it a good prelude to the Dutch round: ‘I felt really welcome and the employees showed a lot of interest and dedication. It was a good way to get into the spirit ahead of this double header’.
