Fabio Quartararo arrives at the Assen GP in 13th position in the championship. The French rider has been showing clear signs of improvement on his Yamaha and aims to continue the positive development of recent GPs this weekend.
In a debrief, the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team rider spoke about his expectations for this weekend.
– There are already some improvements for this weekend. It’s not a big difference, but I hope to be faster. When you have to work hard, it’s all about maneuverability. Maneuverability and the ability to turn. The maneuverability of the past, as I used to say, is much easier. At Mugello, at Jerez, I suffered a lot physically. And this engine has improved agility and cornering a lot and I think that will be a big help for the future. Of course, you don’t only get positive things out of it, there are also some small negative things, but I was very happy with this test because we tested a lot of things, I did more than 100 laps and we didn’t stop all day and it was nice to be able to enjoy it. When you try things and you feel it’s getting better and better, that’s great.
He added about the Yamaha satellite team rumors: ‘This could be a very important thing for us for the future. KTM has improved a lot in the end, thanks to the satellite teams who, when we’re testing, can be very important. We have more, we can test much more quickly. And I think, hopefully, we’ll have two more bikes in the future, but this is going to be very important for us.
