As confirmed since March, Fermín Aldeguer will be a MotoGP rider next season, having signed a contract with Ducati. What remains unofficial is the team he will compete with, though it now appears likely to be Pertamina Enduro VR46, equipped with the latest version of the Italian bike.
According to Motorsport.com, Valentino Rossi’s team is set to become Ducati’s prime satellite team, securing a contract, the latest bike spec, and direct factory support. With this new status, will replace Prima Pramac, which is reportedly moving to Yamaha.
Aldeguer is expected to be one of the riders for VR46. The team will need at least one new rider, given Marco Bezzecchi’s confirmed move to Aprilia. Last year, the Spaniard was close to joining the team in place of Luca Marini (who moved to Repsol Honda). However, Fabio Di Giannantonio was chosen instead.
This time, everything suggests that Aldeguer is joining VR46 for 2025, riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP25. The other option for Ducati to place their promising rider would be Gresini, that has reportedly agreed the contract extension with Álex Márquez. The spot in the other side of the garage remains vacant, given Marc Márquez’s move to the official Ducati team.
