Red Bull Formula 1 advisor Helmut Marko suggested that Liam Lawson could replace Daniel Ricciardo at RB in 2025, as the shareholders want a “young driver” in the team. This means that either Ricciardo or Lawson will miss out on the opportunity to race, with Ricciardo currently occupying the seat. However, Ricciardo has been facing difficulties this season and is behind his less experienced teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, in the standings. With Sergio Perez receiving a contract extension, Ricciardo’s chances of returning to the Red Bull main team have decreased. Lawson has already had experience in F1, replacing Ricciardo in five races last season. If Red Bull does not promote him, Lawson will be allowed to seek opportunities elsewhere. Despite this, Ricciardo’s strong performance in the Canadian Grand Prix has increased his hopes of staying at Red Bull next season. He expressed his desire to earn his place in the team and believes he still has the ability to deliver good performances.
