Fiat has launched a new advertisement that shows the 500e without the traditional brand emblem, which is seen as an indirect response to recent actions by Italian authorities against Stellantis.
The video shared through the Italian brand’s YouTube channel “Fiat – No Logo” shows the 500e without emblems, both on the front and rear. Additionally, the inscription 500e has been removed from the chrome trim under the side windows.
With an emotive background music, the Italian narrator says: “If this car didn’t have a logo, if it didn’t have a name, if it didn’t have a flag. If there was nothing that said what it is or where it comes from, everyone would recognize it. Because when a car has an iconic design and has always represented the joy of living, it can only be Italian, and it can only be a Fiat.”
It should be remembered that the Italian government has recently clashed with Stellantis in order to pressure the automotive group to increase production in its Italian factories. As a result, it forced Alfa Romeo to change the name of the SUV Milano to Junior, claiming that the model produced in Poland could not bear the name of the city of Milan, according to the law.
In addition, Italian authorities seized over a hundred units of the Fiat Topolino at the port of Livorno, arguing that the small city car used an emblem with the Italian flag, which, according to the Public Ministry, could deceive consumers about the origin of the imported product.
The tension between the Italian authorities and Stellantis seems to have decreased, after the automotive group announced that it will extend the production of the Panda at the Pomigliano factory until 2030 and confirmed that the new Fiat 500 Hybrid, the hybrid version of the 500e, will be produced at the Mirafiori factory in Turin.
