Fermín Aldeguer has been recently mentioned as a strong option to fill the void left by Marc Márquez at Repsol Honda, potentially moving to MotoGP in 2024. There are rumors of an offer from the Japanese manufacturer, but the Moto2 rider says he doesn’t know anything about it.
In statements quoted by Motorsport.com, the Spanish rider emphasized that he is in no hurry to make the jump to MotoGP and wants to do it when he feels fully prepared: ‘At the moment, MotoGP is not on my mind. I’m just focused on enjoying the moment and continuing to learn. I turned 18 recently, I’m very young, and I’m in no rush to move up. When I do, I want to be truly prepared to continue demonstrating the potential we have and to compete in MotoGP to win’.
As for the alleged interest from Honda, Aldeguer stated that he is unaware of it: ‘I’m not aware of what you are commenting. During race weekends, I don’t like to discuss external matters, so we’ll see. It’s not my priority right now’.
