Prima Pramac Racing has decided to part ways with Ducati after nearly 20 years of partnership in MotoGP to become Yamaha’s satellite team in 2025. Jorge Martín, who will move to Aprilia, will not be part of this new phase.
When asked if he understands his team’s change of manufacturer, the current championship leader didn’t elaborate much and referred the question to Pramac’s owner, Paolo Campinoti:
– Well, I think you should ask Paolo, not me. It’s not I understand or not; it’s that you have to ask the team. They have their interest and for sure there are some good things coming for the team to move to Yamaha. I feel you need to ask Paolo.
The deal with Yamaha makes Pramac a second factory team for the Iwata manufacturer, in a contract valid for seven seasons. The riders will be contracted and paid directly by Yamaha, which will also provide dedicated technical support.
