The 2023 CB750 brought the Hornet name back to Europe. And its combination of sleek streetfighter silhouette, power and agility justifiably earned it a lot of praise that was reflected in impressive sales figures; in fact, it was the best-selling naked bike in Europe until August 2023.
Now, for 2024, the Hornet family has expanded with the introduction of not one, but two new members. With the CB500 Hornet taking its place alongside the CB750 Hornet, the trio is headed by the new CB1000 Hornet. Powered by the engine from the 2017 CBR1000RR Fireblade and designed as a wide range of strong inline four-cylinder performance and agile handling, the CB1000 Hornet offers riding fun, from the hustle and bustle of cities to twisting, winding back roads.
Designed in Japan, its transformative appearance is guided by two nouns: aggression and purity. With the focus of the two compact projector-type LED headlights, the Hornet’s signature fuel tank – with the sides folded forward – the bike is wide at the front, but tapers radically towards the back, something that can be seen in the minimalist seat that reflects the Hornet’s traditional narrow waistline. The new frame also serves as a design element, but here it is subtly darkened – as is the lattice-type tubular rear subframe.
The CB1000 Hornet’s “get miles fast” potential, quality specifications, compact dimensions and fresh styling make it a bike that’s hard to ignore, especially for those who ride a medium-sized naked bike and are looking to take it up another notch.
