Every year, EICMA is an occasion when motorcycle manufacturers get together to show off their most interesting new models. In many cases, it’s also where these same manufacturers choose to unveil something particularly special.
Even if the manufacturers say they like each and every one of their new bikes in the same way, it’s usually quite clear that some can be appreciated more than others. The limited edition 2024 Indian FTR x 100% R Carbon is clearly one of them
As always, it has the 1,203 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine. It reportedly produces 92 kW along with 118 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox with an assisted slipper clutch.
The suspension consists of a fully adjustable 43 mm Öhlins inverted telescopic fork at the front, together with a fully adjustable Öhlins piggyback setup at the rear. Both ends offer 120 mm of travel.
Braking duties are handled by a pair of Brembo four-piston calipers at the front with 320 mm discs. At the rear, you’ll find a single two-piston Brembo caliper and a 260 mm disc. The wheels are a pair of 17-inch cast aluminum alloy units covered in Metzeler Sportec tires.
The display on the Indian FTR x 100% R Carbon 2024 is a 101 mm (or 3.9 inch) touchscreen equipped with Ride Command, which offers navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.
The FTR has three riding modes: Rain, Standard and Sport. It also has a range of driver aids, including tilt-sensing ABS, stability control, traction control and cruise control. It also has a USB charging port, so you can keep your smartphone or other digital device of your choice charged on the go.
Features
The first feature of the Indian FTR x 100% R Carbon 2024 is, of course, the blue carbon fiber accents. It’s a color that Indian calls Blue Candy.
The Blue Candy carbon fiber is found on the tank, the headlight frame, the seat cowl and the front mudguard. The frame is given a glossy white powder coating to provide a nice contrast to the blue carbon fiber. The occasional red details make the bike stand out, but serve to maintain a correct appearance.
This bike also gets an Akrapovič exhaust in black titanium, as well as non-blue carbon fiber elements, including the engine covers, chain guard and exhaust insulation. The handlebar weights, oil cap and radiator cap get a little extra touch of class from Gilles Tooling.
