The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) revealed on Tuesday that the average weekly price of gasoline decreased by 0.5%, while diesel saw a slight drop of 0.1%.
According to the ERSE report, the efficient price was updated, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for 95 octane gasoline by -1.0% and simple diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal by -0.1%;”.
Thus, “for the week of May 27 to June 2, the efficient price before taxes is €0.850 per liter for 95 octane gasoline and €0.833 for simple diesel. After taxes, the Efficient Price stands at €1.756 per liter for 95 octane gasoline and €1.570 for simple diesel”.
It is worth noting that the efficient price “is a weekly average price estimated by ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in reference international markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics, including strategic reserves and security of the National Petroleum System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component plus the respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “the average of the retail prices announced on the signs and reported in the Energy Single Desk was 3.6 cents per liter above the efficient price for that week, in the case of 95 octane gasoline, and 5.7 cents above in the case of simple diesel”.
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline 95 was announced on billboards 2% above the efficient price and regular diesel was announced 3.5% above,” as advanced by the ERSE report.
