Jorge Martín returned to victory this Saturday, triumphing in the Sprint race of the MotoGP German Grand Prix. It was a closely contested race at Sachsenring, where he rarely managed to have more than a one-second lead.
Despite starting from pole position, the Prima Pramac Racing rider found himself in third place in the opening moments before definitively overtaking Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse/Aprilia) – who put pressure on him for several laps.
In an interview with the official broadcast, Martín began by stating: ‘Well, it was an amazing race. For sure it was really difficult, I think for all the riders – here is really strange and we have to manage a lot with this wind. But I felt great; I feel confident’.
The Spaniard admitted that it was a tough victory but hopes to have better sensations in Sunday’s race: ‘Today it was really difficult to win, because they were so close, I couldn’t make this gap. But I feel that tomorrow with the medium [tyre] I will feel a little bit better. Today I’m really, really happy. Thanks to all German fans, because they are always amazing, and hopefully tomorrow we can win again’.
