Fernando Alonso has been outstanding since joining Aston Martin. He has reached a higher level since his return to the top level of motorsport. Additionally, since becoming part of Aston Martin, he has elevated his performance and consistently competes at the top of the grid.
Many respected people have recognized Fernando Alonso’s strength, including Sergio Perez’s father. He is a big admirer of the 42-year-old driver.
Alonso recently signed a new contract with the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, extending his commitment for several years.
The 2023 season has been incredibly successful for the two-time world champion. He has shown exceptional performance in the AMR23 from the start, scoring a significant number of points and achieving numerous podiums. He has also started the current season strongly.
While Perez Sr. praises Alonso wholeheartedly, he hopes that one day his son will surpass Max Verstappen. Sergio joined Red Bull in 2021, but has not yet won a world championship against Verstappen, who secured two consecutive titles under the current regulations.
Antonio Perez is highly respected within the F1 community and, like any father, wants the best for his son. However, considering Max Verstappen’s exceptional form since winning his first world championship, it seems highly unlikely that Sergio Perez will be able to stop him anytime soon. Additionally, Perez’s current contract with Red Bull expires at the end of the current season, putting his F1 career in jeopardy.
