Kevin Harvick expressed serious concerns about Kyle Busch’s recent performance. The 2024 NASCAR Cup Season has been a complete disaster for RCR and their star driver. Apart from a third-place finish in the second race at Atlanta, the No. 8 team has struggled to reach any position in the top-5 and has only managed three in the top-10. In fact, Busch has finished 20th or worse in half of the races this year.
This drop in performance is significant, especially considering that Busch was a two-time race winner in the Cup last season after the first ten races. Reflecting on his disappointing 26th place finish in Talladega last week, the former Cup champion admitted that his former rival is extremely frustrated with the results.
If Busch doesn’t win a race next week at Dover Monster Mile, it will be the first time since 2020 that he will go through 11 races without a victory. It’s not just Busch who is struggling, his teammate Austin Dillon is also facing difficulties.
Harvick pointed out that in the first two races of the season, Busch was a strong contender for victory and could have won if not for execution errors. He added that once the pit crew problems started, the team’s performance has steadily declined.
Kyle Busch’s poor form in such a renowned team like RCR is a major disappointment for the entire NASCAR community. Both the driver and his team need to step up their game, correct their mistakes during race weeks, and strive to become championship contenders.
