Toyota GAZOO Racing, a Japanese-German manufacturer, is seeking to improve tire warming in the FIA World Endurance Championship, according to team member Mike Conway. Conway acknowledged that other teams, such as Porsche Penske and Ferrari, have found a method to quickly activate their tires, something that Toyota has not yet fully mastered. He expressed the team’s determination to improve in this area. During the qualifying session for the 6 Hours of Imola, Kamui Kobayashi secured sixth place for the Toyota GR010 Hybrid #7, while Brendon Hartley achieved the eighth best time in the Toyota #8. Conway also mentioned that WEC tire regulations play a role in this issue. With limited tire options, teams are required to make a single choice, making tire warming crucial. Despite this challenge, Toyota remains committed to finding a solution.
