Since 2002, the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste, inaugurated in 1999, has hosted the last race of the year, and this weekend will be another day full of strong emotions. Pecco Bagnaia, the MotoGP world championship leader, and Jorge Martín, in second place, are fighting for the title of world champion in the premier class of motorcycling.
‘Pecco Bagnaia was firm at all times, he didn’t lose his temper when he had problems of all kinds, technical, with the tyres. He’s a very cool, persevering and constant rider. He always believed in himself, the Italian knew that Jorge Martín was faster than him in the sprint race, but he managed to score points and looked forward to Sunday’s races. Pecco Bagnaia worked very well throughout the season’ says the former 500cc world champion, quoted by the newspaper Marca.
The now spanish commentator also emphasises that the italian’s lead is comfortable, but not definitive in relation to the “Martinator”.
‘Jorge Martín has a difficult task because he’s 21 points off Pecco Baganaia’s lead when there are 37 at stake. The spaniard has to fight to the end and win both races. There’s no point losing hope and trying to give everything until the end’ he added.
