Recently, Aprilia’s technical director Romano Albesiano admitted that the satellite team is unlikely to have bikes on par with the factory ones in the next two to three MotoGP seasons. Currently, Miguel Oliveira is riding for CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team with the ambition to have factory machinery, especially due to his on-track results.
Asked to comment on this perspective, the Portuguese rider answered: ‘I don’t know. It’s really… I want to go to a place where I have a factory bike as long as the factory bike is performing better than my current bike. At the moment probably for Aprilia is a bit confusing because we are doing so well on an one year-old bike’.
Regarding the differences between the factory team’s RS-GP and the one he rides, Oliveira said: ‘There are a lot of things which are different, but I think that with the same bike it’s really hard to say that their bike is that much better because it’s the same concept of bike, with same aero philosphy. So it’s not really that different although everything looks different’.
