Francesco Bagnaia left the German MotoGP with a victory and the lead in the championship, after Jorge Martín crashed on the penultimate lap while leading and seemingly on course to win.
Mentally, this situation has the potential to impact the two title contenders differently. However, when asked if this could be a turning point, Bagnaia disagreed:
– I don’t think so. I’m in this mood already for six or seven Grand Prix’s. I’m feeling well and fantastic with my team, we are doing a perfect job every weekend. We won six races – five in the last six GPs. So I’m very happy and we are in a good mood for sure. But I don’t think that also for Jorge will change.
For the Italian, the current margin over Martín will mean a restart in the next round, considering it premature to calculate the championship standings: ‘It will be like starting from zero again because we have a 10-point gap and the championship is still very, very long. So it’s not the time to talk about a turning point or the championship’.
