Three years and over 140,000 units later, the renewed Dacia Spring arrives in the national market with new arguments that make it more competitive in the segment of 100% electric city cars, claiming the status of the most affordable proposal, with a launch price of €16,900.
The third best-selling electric car to private customers in Europe, the Spring aims to lead the democratization of electric mobility and for that it now comes with an innovative design, marked by a renewed front and rear, with new elements that adorn the bumpers, and two new body colors, Safari Beige and Brick Red, to add to the catalog alongside the well-known Kaolin White, Slate Blue, Pearl Black, and Lightning Grey.
Inside, the dashboard has been completely reinvented, incorporating a customizable instrument panel with a 7” display and a large 10” central multimedia screen in the top-of-the-range models, incorporating intelligent navigation for up to 8 years, with real-time traffic conditions and updated European maps, and allowing wireless use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Keeping the compact exterior dimensions, the renewed Spring has a length of around 3.7 meters, and now offers 308 liters of boot capacity, a 6% increase compared to its predecessor, which can reach 1004 liters with the rear seats folded down. In addition, the additional storage (double glove compartment, door compartments, etc.) with a total volume of almost 33 liters, is also superior to segment standards.
At the front, a compartment under the front hood provides an additional 35 liters of storage space. The central console can also accommodate an exclusive cup holder, made with cutting-edge 3D printing technology, flexible and resource-efficient.
Regarding engine options, the renewed Dacia Spring continues with only two power levels for the electric motors, with 45 hp and 65 hp, powered by a 26.8 kWh battery capacity, providing a range of over 220 km.
As standard, the model comes with a 7 kW AC charger that can charge the battery from 20% to 100% in less than 11 hours in a household socket, or in just 4 hours in a 7 kW wallbox. An optional 30 kW DC charger is available for faster charging from 20% to 80% in 45 minutes.
The new Spring range includes three equipment levels: Essential, Expression, and Extreme, along with a cargo version. In terms of prices, Dacia has already announced that the updated Spring starts at €16,900 for the Essential equipment level version, equipped with the 45 hp electric motor.
As for the Expression variant, it starts at €18,900 and the Expression version at €19,900. These last two variants are equipped with a 65 hp motor.
The opening of orders for the new Spring will start in the second quarter in Portugal, with the first deliveries scheduled for the four-month period of the year.
