Audi has decided to equip the Q2 SUV with a new, more modern and larger infotainment system. As a result, the compact SUV from the four rings brand now comes standard with an 8.8” high-resolution touchscreen MMI display and the Audi virtual cockpit with a 12.3” instrument panel.
Thus, the new MMI touchscreen display is the central control unit of the latest generation infotainment system. The display is bright and responds quickly to touch, with a resolution of 1270 x 720 pixels. In addition to touch control, the system can also be controlled through natural voice, allowing for instant responses to commands or complex questions. Furthermore, a practical storage compartment now replaces the previous rotary/press button on the central console.
The standard equipment includes MMI Radio, which features a DAB tuner, two USB-C ports on the front central console, emergency call functions, and various Audi Connect services, such as remote control to view and control certain vehicle information, including unlocking doors or checking fuel level. As an additional feature, the navigation preparation package includes the Audi smartphone interface, which allows the user to activate various Audi Connect services, as well as the optional intelligent navigation system.
Meanwhile, the new fully digital instrument panel features a high-definition display and a wide range of customization options. These include a traditional speedometer, RPM values, and optional navigation or multimedia information. The view button on the multifunction steering wheel allows the driver to switch between different display options.
The driver can also switch between two screen layouts: in one of them, the speedometer and tachometer are roughly the same size as analog gauges and integrate optional multimedia or navigation information in the central area of the display.
In the second layout, the dimensions of the speedometer and tachometer are reduced without compromising readability. This layout also features an optional navigation map that occupies almost the entire screen area with integrated route planning.
Audi has already announced that the first units of the Q2 with these updates will arrive in the national market at the end of the first semester.
