For the first time, Alpine will compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in the Hypercar category with an LMDh and presented its car – the A424 – this Thursday.
Based on an Oreca chassis, it has a 3.4-liter turbocharged Alpine V6 engine, assisted by a rear electric motor and standardized LMDh MGU. This is seen by Alpine Racing CEO Bruno Famin as a learning season, ensuring reliability before further development – as the executive said at the presentation.
In its first season, Alpine will have two full-time cars: #35 driven by Ferdinand Habsburg, Matthieu Vaxivière, and Paul-Loup Chatin; and #36 with Charles Milesi, Mick Schumacher, and Nicolas Lapierre.
We leave you with the first images of the new Alpine A424, which is the culmination of 18 intense months of development and track testing.
