The Detroit Pistons, currently the worst team in the NBA by a large margin, are looking to make some moves before the trade deadline. They want to clear some salary space and give their veteran players a chance to compete elsewhere. According to Pistons insider James L. Edwards II, the Minnesota Timberwolves have expressed interest in point guard Monte Morris. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Timberwolves are lacking options at the point guard position. While Mike Conley is a reliable veteran, he’s getting older and could use some support. Morris may not be an All-Star, but he’s a dependable player who can lead the second unit. He takes care of the ball, knows his role, and is making a decent salary. With only six wins this season, the Pistons are already focused on their rebuilding project and could use more draft capital. On the other hand, the Timberwolves are having a successful season and should be aggressive in trade talks before the deadline.
