After not having a place to continue in the Red Bull Junior Team, Zane Maloney joined the Sauber Academy. In addition to competing in his second season in Formula 2 in 2024 for Rodin Motorsport, he will also be a reserve driver for Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber in Formula 1.
The Barbadian driver is only 20 years old and has a successful record in single-seaters. In his first year, he was the British Formula 4 champion in 2019. He then went through the Euroformula Open and the Formula Regional European Championship before finishing as runner-up in his only season in Formula 3 in 2022. Last year, he made his full-time debut in Formula 2 and achieved four podium finishes, finishing tenth overall. He competed in the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix, finishing eighth, and was a reserve driver for Red Bull.
