Álex Rins has been in MotoGP since 2017, and in these seven years, he knows very well what it is like to ride a premier class motorcycle—from the sensations to the necessary tricks, despite the constant updates to the bikes and technology.
The current Monster Energy Yamaha rider admitted that he no longer feels the adrenaline he used to, stating on Vlogs de coches: ‘I lost the adrenaline of riding the MotoGP. In the end, you get used to it, and it becomes something natural’.
To illustrate his feelings, Rins spoke about the top speeds reached at the Italian GP: ‘Now in Mugello, Pol Espargaró set the speed record at 369 km/h, and I think I did 361 km/h, and the feeling is like going 120 km/h. It’s stable, but it’s not because, after all, the straight at Mugello has a slight uphill where the front wheel lifts’.
During the conversation, one of the hosts talked about the excitement and adrenaline he feels watching the race starts. Rins replied: ‘There, the adrenaline dropped a bit. But when you pass the first and second corners, it’s done. Obviously, when you make an overtake, there’s adrenaline’.
