Stellantis announced the acquisition of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure, machine learning models, and intellectual property rights and patents of CloudMade, a company that develops intelligent and innovative automotive solutions based on large volumes of data.
Without revealing the value of the acquisition, Stellantis made it clear that this decision aims to support the medium-term development of the STLA SmartCockpit, while reinforcing the software strategy of the Italo-Gaulish conglomerate outlined in the “Dare Forward 2030” plan.
Stellantis advanced that the AI-based structure created by CloudMade, with integrated graphical interfaces, is the industry-leading software and cloud development kit in the collection and analysis of automotive data sets, having been the benchmark for transforming the user experience in the car and mobility over the past decade.
“Thanks to this adaptable technology and leveraging our growing fleet of connected vehicles, we will create smarter mobility solutions more quickly and with greater flexibility, in order to delight our customers with personalized experiences integrated into vehicles and mobile communications.”, said Yves Bonnefont, Chief Software Officer of Stellantis.
As part of the acquisition, a total of 44 CloudMade software engineers and programmers dedicated to AI technology development will join Stellantis.
