Peugeot keeps five of its six drivers in the 2024 season of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), but distributes them differently between the two cars – which will continue to bear the numbers #93 and #94.
Thus, in the #93 9X8 will be Jean-Éric Vergne, Mikkel Jensen and Nico Müller, while in the #94 the trio will be composed of Loïc Duval, Paul di Resta and Stoffel Vandoorne – the only one who enters full-time in 2024 succeeding Gustavo Menezes, although he already competed in a round last year. The season will start on March 2 in Qatar, but on February 24 and 25 the same country will host the prologue.
Olivier Jansonnie, technical director of Peugeot Sport, commented: ‘The level of competition in the FIA WEC is such that no parameter should be neglected, so we are taking advantage of this ‘low season’ to try to optimize each one of them. The composition of the teams is an important piece of the puzzle and the information we gather in races and tests has convinced us that we can still fine-tune it. We are fortunate to have six very talented drivers, so we have chosen to optimize them in each vehicle, grouping them by configuration affinity, for the benefit of performance’.
