Bo Bendsneyder was the fastest rider in the first qualifying for the San Marino GP. The Dutch rider led the Q1 from start to finish and secured one of the last spots in the Q2 session, along with three of his rivals.
After the first flying laps, Bendsneyder (Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team/Kalex) was at the top of the timing sheets, with Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex) in second. Manuel González (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp/Kalex) and Izan Guevara (Inde GasGas Aspar/Kalex) were also in positions to advance.
With his second flying lap, Zonta van den Goorbergh (Fieten Olie Racing GP/Kalex) moved up to fourth place, swapping positions with Guevara. The top four remained unchanged until the end.
Bendsneyder held onto the top spot, but Arbolino improved to come within 0.001s. González and van den Goorbergh completed the group of riders who advanced to Q2. Guevara narrowly missed out on Q2 by just 0.068s.
