After confirming that Michelin’s investigation into the tyre failure in Qatar found no problems, Piero Taramasso said that the same conclusions were confirmed by Ducati and Pramac, thus putting to rest the suspicions of sabotage that Jorge Martin hinted after the problems at Losail.
The head of Michelin in MotoGP admitted that the tyre supplier conducted a careful investigation into what happened to the tyre criticised by the #89, and concluded that nothing was wrong, but the situation didn’t stop there.
Taramasso told Australian Motorcycle News that in addition to Michelin itself, Ducati and Pramac Racing have also taken their own steps on the issue and the conclusion of all parties was the same: there was human error… by Martin.
‘We did an analysis and shared our analysis with Ducati and Pramac. They’ve done their analysis’ said Taramasso, who then determined that the bad start didn’t come from the equipment, but from Martinator, adding:
– The conclusion of both parties is that yes, Jorge’s performance in Qatar was not in line with what everyone expected.
