Francesco Bagnaia, from Ducati, will aim for his third consecutive MotoGP title in 2024. However, the team manager, Davide Tardozzi, believes that the champion of 2022 and 2023 won’t have an easy task, foreseeing a highly competitive season.
In an interview with the championship’s website, the official anticipated a particularly challenging season in the quest for the title, especially given the strong form of the Ducati riders: ‘I think that 2024 will be one of the most though years to win the title, because for sure it will be eight Ducati riders with good bikes, in good shape and very fast. I think the competitors are growing a lot, so I think to forecast a [candidate] name today is almost impossible’.
Despite anticipating difficulties for the eventual champion, Tardozzi believes that Ducati has the ingredients for success, also recalling riders like Jorge Martín and Marc Márquez:
– As you know, Marc joined Ducati, so he will be very, very competitive, while Martín will be very strong also next year. I think VR46 with [Fabio] Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi, they show an incredible speed. And Enea Bastianini needs to be back on the podium. So I think for us it will be an amazing year, knowing a lot of Ducati will be competitive.
