Polestar has planned the launch of the 100% electric roadster in 2026, and contrary to the initially announced, the Polestar 6 will have a production of over 500 units.
The confirmation was made to “Autocar” by Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, who made it clear that “the great interest from customers shows that an impressive electric roadster like the Polestar 6 is highly relevant among sports models”.
Based on the O2 prototype presented in March 2022, the production version of the Polestar 6 retains the retractable hard-top presented by the prototype, is equipped with an aluminum platform developed by the Swedish brand itself, an 800 V electric architecture, and is powered by electric motors capable of delivering 884 hp of combined maximum power and 900 Nm of maximum torque.
Numbers that, according to Polestar, allow the roadster to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2s and reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
It should be noted that the electric roadster was revealed in August at “The Quail and Pebble Beach” in the USA, where the Swedish brand announced the production of only 500 units, which sold out in a week.
