The Republican National Guard (GNR) and the Public Security Police (PSP) started this Monday, November 13, a selective inspection operation of road passenger transport in the TVDE regime, which will take place until November 17.
In a statement, the security forces emphasize that this “type of transport is carried out by drivers and operators, subject to their own regulations, sometimes in disregard of the legal constraints imposed and the basic rules of circulation, particularly regarding the qualification, certification and training of drivers, as well as the technical specifications imposed on operating companies and vehicles”.
Therefore, during the operation, which will be focused on roads where there is a higher volume of vehicles involved in this activity, the authorities will “intensify road inspections targeting passenger transport, discouraging activities contrary to current legislation by drivers and transport companies, and also seeking to promote fair competition in this sector of road transport”.
The statement also states that this operation by the GNR and PSP “counts on the collaboration of the Mobility and Transport Authority (AMT), the Mobility and Transport Institute (IMT), and the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT)”.
