The Las Vegas Grand Prix is an absolute debut in Formula 1 this year and Ferrari will mark the occasion with a special decoration – which extends to the competition suits of its drivers, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
The traditional red remains, but there is a noticeable presence of white, marking the first “golden era” of the premier class of motorsport in the United States of America – specifically in the 1970s. A wave of interest triggered by Mario Andretti’s historic victory in the South African GP in 1971 while driving for Ferrari.
The former driver’s car was decorated precisely with a combination of Ferrari red and white – a color combination that accompanied the Scuderia in more seasons during that successful era of F1 in the USA.
