There are three rounds left in the Formula 1 season and, after a more turbulent start, Mercedes is in second place among the manufacturers with a 22-point lead over Ferrari. With the title already awarded to Red Bull, this is the current battle for the German team, of which executive director and team principal Toto Wolff wants to emerge victorious.
The Austrian emphasized the importance of achieving this goal: ‘We left Mexico with our advantage over Ferrari intact in the fight for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. This is an important battle for us and the one we are focused on winning’.
Although he praises the race pace of the Mercedes car, Wolff stressed that there is a need to optimize performance on every day of a Grand Prix: ‘The car has shown a very good race pace, however, we know that we have more work to do to extract the maximum from the W14 over the three days’.
