Six years after his debut, Lance Stroll continues to not provide definitive proof of having the talent to compete for top positions in Formula 1. The 2023 season has been particularly negative, as he has never been able to take advantage of the more competitive Aston Martin AMR23 – not even when his teammate Fernando Alonso was regularly on the podium.
Some see a lack of enthusiasm in the Canadian, as is the case with Christian Danner, who told the sport.de website: ‘If someone approaches their job with such a lack of enthusiasm, then there is a fundamental lack of passion for that job – for the privilege of being able to drive a Formula 1 car. I don’t see [enthusiasm] in Stroll in any degree of imagination.’
The former driver is of the opinion that Stroll should consider his continuation in F1: ‘If I were Lance Stroll, a grown man, I would ask myself if I wanted to continue being a driver. He has to make that decision for himself, ask, “Do I have room to improve here? Is there progress.” If yes, “What do I need to do about it?”‘
