Daniel Ricciardo achieved his first points since returning to Formula 1 in Hungary in July at the Mexican Grand Prix. Thanks to his seventh place, AlphaTauri is now only 12 points behind Williams in the fight for seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship.
According to PlanetF1.com, the Australian was asked if it is possible to catch up to the Grove team in the remaining three rounds. In his response, #3 did not rule out this scenario… although he considers making projections difficult:
“If this weekend continues as it is, absolutely. It’s hard to know. Brazil is a very different track, but it’s similar. It’s still at high altitude, still using a lot of aerodynamic load, so this might help us. Let’s see. Vegas? Who knows? Many long straights, so we have to be a little more slippery than we normally are, but I think we should be good for Brazil next week.”
