Max Verstappen was the main protagonist of Friday’s Mexico City Grand Prix in Formula 1. He led both yesterday’s practices and, as such, the Red Bull three-time champion set the best time of the day at the Hermanos Rodríguez Circuit.
The Dutchman remains grounded, recognizing that there is still work to be done to “iron out the edges”: ‘I think it was a positive start to the weekend, of course, it wasn’t easy, there are always some things to improve. You can see that the track is very slippery and the tires were difficult to manage in long stints, so there are still some things we can work on’.
After feeling competitive this Friday, Verstappen expects different scenarios from qualifying to the race: ‘We seem competitive, so that’s good, maybe even better than expected. Saturday will be incredibly tight in one lap and the race pace will be a different matter again’.
