Carlos Sainz arrived at Ferrari in Formula 1 in 2022 and since then has achieved several podiums, including his first two victories. The current contract extends until the end of 2024, but for the future he has already been linked to the joint project of Audi and Sauber.
For now, the Spaniard assured in a press conference conveyed by the FIA that he is happy at Ferrari and the months after this season could be the moment to discuss the renewal – believing that the negotiation process may not be difficult:
– I am comfortable where I am. I am happy at Ferrari. I trust the team. I see positive steps being taken in the right direction. I see a team committed to working in the right direction. And I have always said, I am happy here and that winter would be a good time for us to sit down and see if we can reach an agreement for the future. Which, if they are happy with me and I am happy with them, should not be too problematic. Hopefully it will happen this winter. And if not, it will drag on longer. But we will see’.
