In recent weeks, speculation about Audi’s Formula 1 program, which is expected to see the light of day in 2026 in partnership with Sauber – currently known as Alfa Romeo, has intensified. At the Hinwil structure, the guarantee is that everything remains intact.
Rumors suggested that Audi could completely abandon the agreement or hand it over to Porsche – which is also part of the Volkswagen group. However, Sauber team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi has already denied this, stating to RTBF: ‘The Audi project is extremely exciting. There is a lot of work to be done, but everything is well aligned. It is a solid and important project. It is the most exciting project in Formula 1 in the last ten years’.
The renowned reporter Roger Benoît from Blick writes that the rumors are gaining traction due to the ‘envy’ of rival teams, considering that the project is attracting members from other teams with significant salaries.
